Gamay "Romulus"
Gamay is the second most commonly produced red wine in Switzerland and is a wonderful representation of an easy-drinking red that only requires a little work to enjoy. Originally known as the peasant wine in France, it is prized for its bright fruit and light tannins, and it is surprisingly easy to finish the bottle before you realize it.
A unique, light-bodied red is such a treat to pair with your dishes. Gamay pairs exceptionally well with sweet and savory dishes like lamb with raspberry masala sauce or traditional Thanksgiving meals like turkey and cranberry dishes.
Bouquet: Bright fruits and earthy grounding with hints of lingonberry and clove.
Palate: Well-balanced with bright and crisp notes of crabapple, underripe raspberry, crunchy fruit, and a pleasant acidity and tannins.
Pairings: A versatile wine that can be enjoyed across various pairings. Some of the most prominent pairings are turkey, duck confit, pizza, and a range of creamy cheeses like brie and compete.
