Domaine du Centaure Pinot Noir "Centaure" is aged in oak barrels, giving it much more depth and character. Pinot Noir is Switzerland's most common red varietal, followed closely by Gamay. Swiss Pinots are typically an envy in Europe, as most of the best Pinots in the world have come out of Switzerland for over twenty years. This lends credence to the common phrase that "Switzerland is the best-kept secret in wine."
Bouquet: hints of vanilla and cloves with plums followed by a heavenly earth finish.
Palate: Well balanced with good tannins subtle oak, red cherries, sage, and mushrooms.
Pairings: Due to its earthy tinge, it is versatile yet easy to pair with pasta, roasted chicken, mushroom risotto, thyme-roasted steak tips, and creamy cheeses.
