Blauburgunder "Malanser" (Pinot Noir)
Weingut Wegelin – Blauburgunder "Malanser" (Bündner Herrschaft · Graubünden AOC)
A benchmark expression from one of the Bündner Herrschaft's founding estates — the Scadenagut in Malans, where Pinot Noir has been cultivated with pioneering dedication since the 1950s, now carried forward by cellar master Rafael Hug and oenologist Mathilde Hug Pédeutour.
Bouquet: Inviting aromas of red and dark cherries with subtle spice, a whisper of almond, and the earthy, mineral signature of Malans' calcareous slate soils.
Palate: Medium-bodied and elegantly structured, with vibrant red fruit, fine-grained tannins, and a persistent, slightly oaky finish that speaks to both finesse and depth.
Vinification: Temperature-controlled fermentation followed by 12 months of ageing in 500-liter used oak barrels, preserving varietal purity while adding gentle complexity.
Farming: Certified Organic (Bio Suisse Knospe)
Pairings: A natural match for Bündnerfleisch, game, roasted poultry, mushroom risotto, or aged mountain cheeses.
