Gamaret-Garanoir "Légende"
Gamaret and Garanoir are heritage grapes of Switzerland. It was created in 1972 by crossing a Gamay and a German Reichensteiner grape. This created two distinct sibling grapes, Gamaret and Garanoir, both with their own personalities and incredible potential.
Our family's "Legende," as we call it, is a blend of these prominent Swiss varietals. Gamaret offers full body, deep red color, and lingering tannins with peppery spice and rich oak. Garanoir delivers a fruit-forward aroma of blackberry and plum.
Bouquet: Intoxicating peppery aroma complimented by standouts of boysenberries and plum.
Palate: A sublime array of oak, sage, and tobacco follows a smooth tantalization of spice and currants.
Pairings: A strong red begins to be paired with bold meat-based dishes like porterhouse steaks and roasted lamb.
